The greeting up top, your three subject cards with current level + progress, two trend lines once you have data (your first-instinct percentage and where a little practice would help most), then the mode cards: Practice Exam, Your Coach, Flashcards, Stories.
One question at a time, with the coach walking you through each one. Read, pick an answer, tap Submit. You see right away if you got it. The coach explains in short sections: the best answer, a real-world example usually anchored to your actual life, and — only when you missed it — a pattern to remember. Want to know more? reveals three deeper sections.
Then comes the Quick check: was that your first instinct, or did you change your mind? This trains the muscle of trusting your first read on test day. The percentage builds up over time and shows on the home screen.
Levels: every 10 correct in a subject moves you up. Five levels per subject. Misses don't pull you back. But levels aren't the same as ready — "ready" means around 80% accuracy.
Mistake bank: every question you miss joins a per-subject pool. Practice Exam will pull about half of its questions from there until you get them right. They come back until they don't.
A timed run at real-exam pace. Pick a subject, then either a Quick set (10–20 questions, short rep) or a Full practice exam (the real count). Countdown timer top-right; auto-submits when it runs out. End exam now at the bottom if you need to stop early.
When you finish you get an official-looking Score Report: candidate, exam name + code, date, time used, score percentage, a ✅ badge if you hit 80%, and a per-domain breakdown. Take a screenshot — that's your proof-of-practice when your program asks for it.
Every finished exam is saved (the last 200) so you can look back.
A warm, plain-English read on how you're doing. Tap it any time. It uses your actual practice history — not a generic motivational quote.
You'll see a short paragraph or three covering: what you've got handled, what we're still working on (with specific Mometrix study-guide chapter and page numbers), your gut-trend if it's decent, and a concrete next step.
Rapid-fire review when you want recognition reps instead of full walkthroughs. Pick a subject, pick a size (5, 10, or 20), go. Tap an option to commit your guess, then Show answer to reveal it highlighted green.
🔄 Jeopardy Recall (Science and Social Studies only): on the size screen, check the toggle before picking a size and the deck runs in flip mode — the card shows you the answer first, and you recall the question. Harder than recognition; strongest practice mode there is for content you have to know cold. (PPR doesn't get it — flipping a classroom scenario doesn't really work.)
If you miss a flashcard, it joins the same mistake bank Practice and Practice Exam use. So a miss on Tuesday's flashcards comes back on Thursday's Practice Exam.
Short reads on the trickiest topics — 1–2 minutes each, with the trick the test usually pulls explained at the end. 22 stories across the three subjects, with subject filters.
Melanie's Path — a few short personal stories for the harder days when the studying isn't landing. Under the Stories card.
Everything — levels, mistake bank, Practice Exam history, gut-trend — lives only in the browser on your device. Nothing on a server, nothing shared. If you study on two different phones, they each track their own progress (no sync). Clearing browser data clears your progress.
If a question seems wrong, an answer doesn't match what you learned, or the app does something unexpected — tell your dad. He can check it and fix it. The app is built for you, so it's always tunable.
